Currently on display at Chigunitta, Yumi Okuma's solo exhibition “The World Inside You” is now available for purchase online. This is her first solo exhibition in Osaka in 18 years since “digmeout ART&DINER” in America-mura. Enjoy a collection of fun works using the technique of paper printmaking, themed around stories and animism.

「The World Inside You」
私たちは、曖昧な記憶の中で生きています。
その記憶は美しく、時には切なく、
現実と夢、フィクションとノンフィクションの間で揺れ動き続けています。
その境界は曖昧であり、私たちは日々、物語の中に生きているかのように感じます。
そして、そんな体験が私たちを形作り、今という瞬間を紡いでいく。
あなたが今、歩んでいる世界は、どんな物語でしょうか？

“The World Inside You”
We live in vague memories.
Those memories are beautiful, sometimes poignant,
and constantly fluctuate between reality and dreams, fiction and nonfiction.
The boundaries are vague, and we feel as if we are living in a story every day.
And those experiences shape us and weave together the present moment.
What kind of story is the world you are walking in right now?

おくまゆみ
アーティスト、イラストレーター
1976年石川県生まれ。グラフィックデザイン事務所勤務を経て、2002年より制作活動開始。個展、グループ展で発表を重ねる。アーティスト イン レジデンス（メキシコ、三重）にて滞在制作発表、そのほかワークショップ、ライブペインティング、公開制作などを行う。制作方法は絵画、インスタレーション、立体、ZINEなど多岐にわたり、物語やアニミズムをテーマに制作している。2020年手製絵本「はこ」、2022年「ピーナツぶたーさん」（YOMO）を発表し絵本制作も行う。近年、コラグラフ（紙版画）という技法で作品制作や、ワークショップを行っている。2025年、こども造形教室を開設。

Okumayumi
Artist, Illustrator
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1976. After working at a graphic design office, she began her artistic career in 2002. She has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She has participated in artist-in-residence programs in Mexico and Mie Prefecture, where she created and exhibited her work, as well as conducting workshops, live painting sessions, and public art projects. Her artistic methods span painting, installation, sculpture, and zines, with themes centered on storytelling and animism. She has published the handmade picture book “Hako” in 2020 and “Peanuts Butter-san” (YOMO) in 2022, also engaging in picture book creation. Recently, she has been creating works and conducting workshops using the collagraph (paper printmaking) technique. In 2025, she plans to open a children's art workshop.
